Roskilde University, Computer Science - Electronic Whiteboards at Emergency Departments

January 2011

Two PhD students have done a Study of Clinicians´Expectations And Experiences of using IMATIS Visi Electronic Whiteboards. An important element of the clinical work at departments that treat acute patients consists of forming and maintaining an overview. At emergency departments (EDs), the support for clinical overview includes whiteboards with carefully selected, frequently updated, and highly visible information about the patients. Currently, many EDs are in a process of replacing their old dry-erase whiteboards with electronic whiteboards, and this study measure the effects in a scientific way.  The presentation of the latest study will be published in May 2011.  Below you can find already published articles.

Wireless Sensor Monitoring - for home-care and future wireless hospitals

National Pilot Hospital for Monitoring of Clinical Pathways

June 2010

Ringerike Hospital has developed a process-centric working model for hospitals to ensure that patients experience a coherent clinical pathway including high quality at the right time and place.
Only the patients experience the entire clinical pathway. It is the patients who are nearest to experience the clinical pathway in its entirety; from the first contact when injury or disease occurs, to meetings with various medical services related to examination and treatment. For the participants that the patients meet during the treatment process, it can be difficult to maintain an overview of the entire treatment pathway, as well as to know what is happening in the various stages of the clinical chain.
Patient treatment – a core process
By using a process-centric model, Ringerike Hospital has defined the treatment of patients as its core process. The hospital’s organization and management are based around this core process. In addition, the hospital’s corporate structure is horizontal and the building itself is in the best possibly manner suited for this. Based on our IMATIS Platform, Ringerike and Imatis will build a IMATIS Activity Monitoring Solution, that has both National and International interest.
